The project that began as a way of creating some good, in what has been a rather unsettling year, has totally gained momentum now, and I’m loving every moment of it!
I’m a strong believer that women supporting women can achieve amazing things, and working in a collaborative manner this year has been such a personal highlight.
To date we have launched a Tee with Kirsten from Bettyquette and a Wrap Linen Blouse with Bev from Iris May Style. As these styles have only been produced in limited numbers, they are also an investment towards exclusivity in your own wardrobe and will cover all your bases if you purchase across the collection as it evolves.
A feel-good purchase, that earns its keep!
(Or Stunning Suzie, as I affectionately call her)
I got to know Suzie through the Styling You #everydaystyle community and was instantly drawn to her. Every day she manages to look effortlessly stylish and put together in a unique but translatable way. Her European heritage underpins her look and I’m particularly envious of her trademark bouffant top knot.
Although she is based in Melbourne, we have managed to socialise in person, and I can’t wait until travelling to Victoria is an option again, so that we can have another dinner date.
The last time we got together she had a good try on session with my Philosophy collection, and turned every piece into a show stopper. Therefore she was the muse that I instantly thought of when this collection idea took hold; and a FaceTime call later, Suzie was totally on board.
Suzie has worn some Philosophy linen pieces over the last few years, and had an idea to turn one of our historical tunics into a dress. I was more than willing to run with that idea! The kaftan dress we have created lives up to its Stunning Suzie name, and will be a timeless resort piece.
With a $20 donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation for each dress purchased, this piece will ensure you feel as good about your purchase as you will look wearing it. Let’s sprinkle that style kindness!

How would you describe yourself?
I was born in The Netherlands and moved to Australia when I was 20 years of age after meeting my husband known as "The Sicilian” while on holidays here. We’ve been married for 38 years with three fantastic children and two super cute grandchildren. I love travel and go to Europe regularly to visit my family. My other love is fashion and I always dreamt of having a boutique but that never eventuated. I love styling, fabrics and sewing.
How would you describe your style?
Classic with a relaxed twist like oversize jeans with undersized blazers and always a heel!
What styles are you drawn to?
Chanel style jackets, Ralph Lauren relaxed tailored looks and Zimmermann floaty dresses.
Neutrals; cream, black and taupe with turquoise for jewellery.
More of a texture than a print fan but don’t mind a polka dot or a paisley print.
Do you feel your lifestyle defines your style, or the other way around?
I’ve always dressed for myself and The Sicilian stopped asking years ago if I was going out. I feel happiest when I’m dressed well whether that’s going to the supermarket or out for dinner.
How has your style evolved?
I’ve gone from lots of colour and pattern and nothing to wear to a wardrobe of classic neutrals that all mix and match making it so much easier to get dressed.
Whose style do you admire?
Emmanuelle Alt, Editor Vogue Paris, always looks fabulous.
What brands or stores do you favour?
Zimmermann, Camilla, Zara, White Label Noba and independent boutiques.
What season do you prefer dressing for?
Resort Wear! It means I’m going on holidays.
What are your deciding factors when considering a purchase?
Quality, fabric and workmanship.
What garment have you always struggled to style, or veered away from?
Tracksuits and sneakers. Can’t do sneakers!
What is your favourite style tip?
Find your style by saving your favourite Pinterest pics and try to create similar styles with what’s in your wardrobe.
What piece would you like Philosophy to create for you as your signature style?
I love the Beau linen tunic and would love that same cut in a maxi kaftan dress with pockets and side splits in a striped linen. I would live in a dress like that all summer long!
What Charity would you like to donate proceeds to, and why is that cause close to your heart?
Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. I couldn’t think of a more devastating diagnosis for a woman to have to deal with.
We love a quote, what’s your style philosophy?
Confidence is your best friend and a smile your best accessory.
